I've been practicing well-being techniques and teaching methods of getting back in shape physically and mentally for the last 15 years at my own yoga studio, YogaYoga Paris 75007. It was at my studio that I met Joëlle BELLAMY in 2010 who introduced me to pilates for well-being.
Working with Joëlle for years and witnessing the evolution of 100s of students at my studio convinced me of the power of pilates for restoring well-being. I decided to broaden my teaching techniques by studying pilates. In 2022, I completed the diploma program for Mat Pilates (I, II, III) at A-Lyne (Paris 75010) which is a Balanced Body school owned at the time by the Americans Martine Curtis-Oakes and Kelly Moriarty. This mat training also convinced me to go further and study pilates on machines. In 2024, I completed my Comprehensive Training with Yaëlle Penkhoss at Equilibre Pilates which is a Polestar affiliated school. Finishing these renowned trainings which took almost 2 years to fully complete, gave me the knowledge and confidence to teach efficient private classes tailored to your needs,
Most people would consider my practice to be relatively gentle. My students always tell me that they feel 'so much better' or 're-energized' by my classes. I do emphasize the positioning of the breath and your sensations as we practice. I must say that strengthening the abdominals, the rest of the core, as well as your entire body will always be a priority. One of my long-term goals is to give you the long, lean appearance so sought after by serious practitioners. The structure of my classes respect completely the principles of Pilates and the Polestar principles for machine work. Prepare to immerse yourself in a caring environment for your physical and mental self-improvement.
My teaching approach is derived from the scientific principles of movement with an eye on good function. The quality of movement is emphasized over the quantity of movement. The development of your movement follows the placement of your breath. Correct breathing supports healthy movement and vice-versa. Control and precision develop with time which leads to an acceleration in progress. Machines such as the Reformer allow me as your instructor to adapt the resistance or the support offered by the machine throughout the entire movement. Pilates on machine can thus be made accessible to everyone, and we will find an accessible launching point for your development.
My approach to your development will target functional movement. We will concentrate on improving mobility, strength and stability. With time your awareness of your body will develop beyond our sessions together. Your balance will improve, your posture will change, and probably how you walk will evolve. Many students vocalize spontaneously how much more energy and confidence they have.
Practicing pilates means investing in an intelligent and structured practice. Expect to progress, expect that the positive changes will establish themselves in your body. Pilates maintains your well-being, develops your capacity for performance, and improves your overall health. Joseph Pilates himself said that practitioners will start living the positive results of pilates after 10 sessions.
